Today
is my first Master swim practice. I’m nervous mostly because even though I’m outgoing, it’s still nervewracking to meet a lot of people at once. Blah.
I’m super excited though.
Wait, what?
Did you just say that I’ll get a bonus if I finish proofreading your book by the end of the week?
Consider it done.

taking revenge for the semester. I’ve woken up with a sore throat the past two mornings and this morning I could barely swallow. I took a nap after work today and woke up with body aches and a headache. And my nose is congested.
I feel awful but I’m hoping rest days will fix this. I really really want to try Master Swim on Friday and I don’t want to be sick.
GPOY “My black toenail” edition.
And no, that’s not nail polish. This toenail has progressively gotten blacker since the marathon. Chances of it falling off are high. The other one isn’t as bad but might fall off as well.
Oh well, who needs toenails anyways?
I absolutely love not having school. Working 40 hours a week isn’t bad when I don’t have to worry about tests or homework.
I’m posting my work out schedule for the rest of the week for my own purposes as well as accountability.
Tuesday - LiveFit Day 3
Wednesday - LiveFit Day 4
Thursday - Rest day!
Friday - My first Master swim practice!
Saturday - Running an undetermined amount of miles…3 or 4.
Sunday - Master swim again.
Pretty excited about this week and ready to just workout.
Starting the summer off right with some iron. It felt really good to get back into the gym with just lifting and minimal cardio. Finished Jamie Eason’s LiveFit Day 2.
Now off to shower and then work all day.
GPOY “Finals” edition…
Thought y’all would enjoy a bathroom/toilet shot.
Tech shirts are so comfy! This was the shirt from my first half marathon, the Wounded Warrior Half.
One more final and I’m free for a while until summer classes!
There goes my GPA. My first ever college C…
This is nothing to shed tears over, it’s not the end of the world, but damn I am disappointed.
On to the next one.
I was tired of being sedentary for nearly 5 days that I decided to hit the gym tonight. According to Hal Higdon, I’m now clear to run but my legs were not feeling it yet so I did some low-impact cardio and the first day of LiveFit. I’m still not sure 100% sure if I’m going to start it now or later but I decided to do the first day anyways.
WU: 5 minutes on the Stair Master
Wide Pushup: 3X12
Dumbbell Bench Press: 3X12 @ 20lb (10lb weights on each arm)
Machine Flyes: 3X12 @ 20lb
Narrow Pushup: 3X12
Overhead Triceps Dumbbell Extension: 3X12 @ 10lb
Tricep Pushdowns: 3X12 @ 12.5lb
Cooldown: 5 minutes on the elliptical
I didn’t sweat too much but mostly because I don’t sweat that much in general, but my arms are definitely worn out. Ready to knock this last final out and then sleep for a million years!
I still don’t consider myself a marathoner. Yes, I ran a marathon on Saturday but whenever people congratulate me and ask me if I feel accomplished, I don’t really know what to say. Maybe because it hasn’t hit me yet.
Hmmmph.
I have been considering the LiveFit program for the summer. After my marathon I wanted to take some time off from long distance running and focus on something else and I think this just might be it.
I’m joining Masters Swim here at Auburn during the summer and I’m also (hopefully) training for a trail 10K with Nikki that is happening on June 23rd. All this being said, if I decided to start LiveFit, I don’t know when to start it. After the 10K or next week when summer starts? And how will I fit Masters Swim into it all? Will LiveFit work with training for a trail 10K and Masters Swim? Will I even have time to do all of this when working 45+ hours a week? I have no idea.
I need to figure it out but needless to say I’m excited about my goals for the summer.
And this whole post was brought to you by first world problems.
I tried to do my first marathon justice but I don’t know if these words or any words will ever explain the experience.
This is a long one, so be ready.
